Hi Family,

This is our first blog, so here is our news.
There has been a spiritual revival in our family. We've changed churches and are now attending Ocean View Baptist Church. Holly, Joshua, and I recommitted our lives to Christ with a public confession of faith followed by Baptism by immersion. We are all very active in the church. Joshua is in a children's musical for Christmas, "3 Wise Guys on a Starry Night." We'll let you know the date later. He is also in Awanas. I'm in the Praise Choir and we are doing a Christmas musical as well. It's written by Bill and Gloria Gaither and is proving to be challenging, moving, and entertaining.
Holly is in the youth group and ACTEENS (Teens Women's Mission League), and the youth praise band. Rebekah is enjoying the Young Adults Mission. We are all enjoying Sunday School and Ron and I are taking Discipleship training on Sunday nights.

The kids are doing great in school. Rebekah is studying Computer Programing at Norfolk Technical and is in the Future Business Leaders of America. Holly is enjoying Computer Science Applications, making computer animations, and is involved in the Robotics club.

Joshua is the big surprise. He is doing so well in school. This is his first year in public school and he has adjusted wonderfully. The teachers are surprised that he ever had any problems. He enjoys art and math and has just started piano lessons at the Center for the Arts at Ocean View Christian Academy.

Upcoming events
Currently doing a catalog show with Pampered Chef. If you need something, give me a call.
Uppercase Living Open House at our house in November Friday before Thanksgiving.

Our Sweet Adelines' Chorus will be offering Singing Holiday Cards and singing at several retirement homes. We are also gearing up for our annual competition in Greensboro. This year it's on Mother's Day Weekend. Holly is now a card carrying member of Sweet Adelines and sings Baritone as well. She is quite good.

Well that's it for now. Love to all. See you at Thanksgiving.

Rick goes the emergency room

I was out training my boat crews in 10 foot seas and 40mph winds when I started to have chest pains. My crew brought me in and had an ambulance waiting for me. My heart rate was down to 44 before I was given 2 nitro tablets and 4 baby aspirin. At that point my heart rate got up to 60. Once in the emergency room, I had some blood drawn for testing. I also had a CAT scan of my heart. The test were all negative, except for a slightly elevated white blood cell count and slightly higher pancreatic enzyme levels. The big news is that when a CAT scan was done for my heart, it reveled that I have 2 gall stones in the neck of the gall bladder. The doctor told me I needed to have surgery to have is removed very soon or I would run the risk of some serious problems. So in the morning I will look into getting my gall bladder removed. I also have been suffering from severe leg cramps and my right temple is sore to the touch, so I will be going to a neurologist to deal with those two seperate issues. The ER doctor believes the sore temple is related to the migrains I also suffer with.

Thanks to all who prayed for me. GOD plan is perfect and to him I give the glory for guiding the doctors to finding this problem before it got too bad. Thanks to my wife for being right by my side the entire night, I love her. GOD's plan is perfect.
