Rick goes the emergency room

I was out training my boat crews in 10 foot seas and 40mph winds when I started to have chest pains. My crew brought me in and had an ambulance waiting for me. My heart rate was down to 44 before I was given 2 nitro tablets and 4 baby aspirin. At that point my heart rate got up to 60. Once in the emergency room, I had some blood drawn for testing. I also had a CAT scan of my heart. The test were all negative, except for a slightly elevated white blood cell count and slightly higher pancreatic enzyme levels. The big news is that when a CAT scan was done for my heart, it reveled that I have 2 gall stones in the neck of the gall bladder. The doctor told me I needed to have surgery to have is removed very soon or I would run the risk of some serious problems. So in the morning I will look into getting my gall bladder removed. I also have been suffering from severe leg cramps and my right temple is sore to the touch, so I will be going to a neurologist to deal with those two seperate issues. The ER doctor believes the sore temple is related to the migrains I also suffer with.

Thanks to all who prayed for me. GOD plan is perfect and to him I give the glory for guiding the doctors to finding this problem before it got too bad. Thanks to my wife for being right by my side the entire night, I love her. GOD's plan is perfect.

Hi Rick and April-
Can you give us an update on what's happening with your gall stones and other stuff? We lifted you up in prayer at our Wed night church meeting.

I feel fine, I was back to work in the morning. I went right back out and train my crew in 12ft seas again. I contacted my local corpsman, who is trying to reach everyone to make arrangements for the surgery, but it appears that the ER doc's referral has not made it to the insurance yet so there you have it. Just waiting on the referral.
I feel good and I am asymptomatic for gall bladder pain. I have noticed a little more frequent heart burn and some other minor changes in how my body is doing things, but I am doing good.
I thank everyone who has prayed for me and it is a comfort knowing that GOD's plan is perfect and there is a sweet pleasure in walking out blindly on faith. For a non-believer they would say I am kooky, I'm OK with that.
